Jonah Bible Study Paused
Due to the recent weather and frigid temperatures, we will be temporarily pausing the Jonah Bible Study. The weather has understandably made it difficult for several participants to attend, and we want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to fully engage in our time together.
Justin plans to reconvene the group once conditions improve, and we will simply pick up where we left off. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.
We look forward to gathering again soon to continue exploring God’s Word together.

Transfiguration Sunday
Scripture Readings
Exodus 24:12–18 • Psalm 2 • 2 Peter 1:16–21
This Sunday, we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday, the radiant conclusion of the Epiphany season. Our readings draw us up the mountain—first with Moses on Sinai, then with Peter recalling the glory of Christ revealed.
In Exodus, Moses enters the cloud of God’s presence on Mount Sinai. The glory of the Lord settles on the mountain like a consuming fire, and Moses remains there forty days and forty nights. It is a powerful reminder that God reveals Himself in holiness and majesty, inviting His people into a covenant relationship.
Psalm 2 proclaims the Lord as sovereign King. Though nations rage and rulers scheme, God reigns. He has established His Anointed One as King, and all are called to serve the Lord with reverence and joy.
In 2 Peter, the apostle testifies that the disciples were eyewitnesses to Christ’s majesty on the holy mountain. They heard the voice from heaven declaring Jesus as the beloved Son. Peter reminds us that this glory was not a cleverly devised myth, but a divine revelation—confirming the prophetic word and strengthening our faith.
Together, these passages reveal the glory, authority, and faithfulness of God. They call us to trust the One whose majesty shines brighter than the sun and whose Word stands firm forever.
The Hymns
The music this week echoes the theme of God’s majesty and guiding presence.
“Awesome God” opens our worship with a bold declaration of God’s sovereign power and glory.
“Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah” prepares our hearts to hear the Word, praying that the God who led Israel through the wilderness would also lead us through every trial and transition.
“Majesty, Worship His Majesty” sends us forth exalting Christ, the risen and reigning King, whose glory transforms and commissions us.
If a hymn is unfamiliar, consider clicking the provided links, listening to it during the week, and reflecting on its words as preparation for worship.
The Message
On this Transfiguration Sunday, we will reflect on the glory revealed on the mountain and what it means for us today. The same Jesus whose face shone like the sun is the One who walks with us in the valleys of daily life. His glory is not distant; it strengthens us, assures us, and calls us to faithful obedience.
As we stand in awe of His majesty, may we also hear the Father’s command: “Listen to Him.”
Come, let us worship the King whose glory fills heaven and earth, and whose light shines into our lives with grace and truth.
We look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday!
